Additional Tips in Linking PayPal with RCBC MyWallet Card

  • Make sure your PayPal email address as well as your RCBC’s matches.
  • Be mindful of the charges imposed by RCBC My Wallet Card. Balance Inquiry for instance costs 1 PHP. If you want to inquire your debit card’s balance for free, I recommend you to enrol your card to RCBCAccessOne Online Banking.
  • PayPal will deduct 100 PHP from your debit card but it will return that fee after the process so better watch out for that and check if there were lapses.
  • In case you want to load your card, you may do so at any RCBC branches (Both Savings and Commercial). Each reloading transaction costs 10 PHP regardless of amount.
  • You may also load your card in accredited LBC branches. They charge 3 PHP per 100 PHP. So, if you are loading your card for 1000 PHP, you need to give them 1030 PHP.
  • Opt for RCBC MyWallet Card with MERCURY DRUG’s SUKI CARD instead of the plain one to maximize the use of your card.

So, there you have it. You can now withdraw your money from Paypal without limits. If you got any questions, key them in on the comment box below or press the heart button (if you see one) on the upper left portion of the page.

Good luck. 😀

How to Verify your Paypal using RCBC MyWallet Visa debit card?

1. Open a MyWallet Visa Debit Card on the nearest RCBC COMMERCIAL BANK.

  • Make sure you are in RCBC’s commercial bank and NOT on their savings bank.
  • Bring your valid ID as well as its photocopy when applying for the card.
  • Make an initial deposit of 120 Php to your account. It’s the minimum requirement for setting up your card.
  •  DON’T inquire your balance on any ATM (even RCBC’s) because it will deduct 1 Php from you making your balance insufficient for the verification procedures.

IMPORTANT: Tell the person-in-charge to key in your email address on their database.

2.   After getting your card, log in to your PayPal account and click the “GET VERIFIED” link. Enter the necessary details on the online form that will appear on the screen. If PayPal has successfully received your request, you should receive an email like this within 24-48 hours.

3.   Request for the EXPUSE CODE PayPal has sent to your debit card by sending an email to customercontact@rcbc.com. When sending them a message, indicate the following details:

  • Full Name
  • Card Number
  • Issuing Branch
  • Birthday
  • Mobile Number
  • Address
  • E-mail address
  • Date you linked your debit card to PayPal

4.   When RCBC gives you your unique 4-digit Expuse Code, log in to your PayPal account once again and click the “VERIFY NOW” link (upper left). After typing the 4-digit code, this should be PayPal’s prompt message:

Verifying PayPal Account with a Philippine Debit Card

PayPal is one of the most common platforms for both paying and receiving money online. So, if you are planning to have an online job in the future, set up your PayPal account now and verify it with them.

Why Do I Need to Verify my PayPal Account?

This was also my first question when I got a PayPal account several years ago. You see, I had this online job before where I am paid via this online platform. I did not see the need for PayPal account verification at that time since I earned less than 500 PHP from the said online job. (Note: The minimum amount of money you can transfer to your account is 500 PHP. So, I really had no chance of transferring them to my bank account.) Now, I realized why I should need to verify my account. That’s because if you don’t verify your account, you’ll have withdrawing and sending limits —limits that were set by PayPal to protect their users from unauthorized account access.

What Do You Need to Verify Your Account?

You will need either a debit or a credit card. In my case, I used a debit card instead of my credit card because I am somewhat skeptical in using credit cards online.

What are Accredited Debit Cards in the Philippines for Verifying PayPal?

According to my research, three debit cards in the Philippines can be use to verify your PayPal account. These are Union EON, RCBC MyWallet Visa, and BPI e-Prepaid Master debit cards. After weighing my options, I opted for the RCBC MyWallet Visa Card.

Shooting Videos for Amateurs

Alas! It’s all over. After long weeks of shooting different scenes here and there and moving from one location to another, we are finally done with our video presentation for our Management Ethics course. Ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to present to you the product of our hard work <insert drum rolls here>:

Our Presentation Teaser Image
(c) Geneveive Aguilan; Editing By: Nikki Avila

Sorry, this is just a teaser. I can’t upload the real thing here as that one’s a large file.

For those of you who might be wondering what our video presentation is all about, our group focused on Bernard Madoff, the man behind the largest ponzi scheme in history. We somehow re-enacted some of the events in his life that led him to such unethical behavior. Since, we’re all girls in our group, we decided to change the characters into feminine one. In my case, my character’s name was changed to Bernadette instead of Bernard Madoff.

Anyways, some of you will be surely be doing similar video presentations in the future, so I am giving you tips that might help you along the way (I discovered these when we were making our project):

  • Consult your teammates whether they are already satisfied or not with the script.
  • Find loopholes as much as possible and arrange the sequence of events carefully that it will seem like being played on real time.

  • Prepare letters asking permission to an establishment’s management if you wish to shoot a scene in their areas. Believe me you’ll never want to be kicked out of a coffee shop just because you didn’t secure your permits properly (Talk about past experience *winks*)
  • Be resourceful and turn ordinary place into extra-ordinary scene venues.
  • If you can shoot more scenes at only one location, the better it is.

  • It’s nice to have talents that can really play their characters well but in case of a short production like ours, sometimes you just have to deal with what’s on hand. I mean, it wouldn’t harm you if you just trust on your talents’ acting prowess and not to demand so much from him.
  • Be resourceful with the costumes. Don’t buy new ones especially if you’re not really going to need them after your presentation.
  • Play back scenes you just have taken and check if the audios or background noise are tolerable. Re-shoot them if you need to.
  • If possible, use microphones that are appropriate for camcorders to ensure the audio quality of your presentation. We don’t want to leave our audience hanging while watching the presentation just because they don’t hear the dialogues well, right?

  • Coordinate with your team members even those who are not really in charge with this accordingly. Remember, two heads are better than one.
  • Use the available video editing software that you are most familiar with to save time. Some of the most widely used include Windows Movie Maker, Adobe Premiere and Sony Vegas.

And probably the MOST important tip I could ever give you with filming amateur videos is this…

ENJOY. Have FUN. Make New Friends!

Happy Filming everyone!

Reviews about ONLINEJOBS.PH

I promised myself that if I ever got paid through this online platform, I will definitely make a good review about it. So, here it is.

Two weeks ago, I was quite desperate on looking for online jobs that will not be burden-some for students like me. I’ve heard loads of stuff about being virtual assistants or VAs so I tried searching for those kind of jobs in google. Luckily, I stumbled on a site called onlinejobs.ph.

onlinejobs.ph home page

Upon signing up for an account and completing all the necessary tests (Yes, you need to take some basic tests to increase your chances of getting hired), an Australian company contacted me to do some online task for them which basically involves some writing and uploading tasks.  I was fortunate enough because my employer is quite patient with me because I must admit even though I’m into content writing for some time now, there are still many things about it that I don’t know yet.

So, you might be asking, is onlinejobs.ph legitimate? Yes, definitely. Here’s a snippet of my payment via paypal.

Proof of Payment

NOTE: I covered the name of my employer’s name with a purple ink for the sake of his privacy. These are my income for 10+ hours of work per week. Not so bad if you are doing some simple and basic tasks, right?

Oh and by the way, before I forget, onlinejobs.ph serves only as some sort of a mediator between Filipinos and foreign companies. So, the modes of payment, communications, monitoring software, etc. are independent of the site. These things will highly rely on the preferences of your employers. More often than not, this is the scenario: You’ll get to communicate with your employers via skype; You’ll get paid through paypal; and Be supervised through basecamp and worksnaps software. In my case, we are using worksnaps to track the time I’ve spent in doing my job.

Additional Tips:

  •  Don’t be lazy in rating your skills upon signing up. This way, your employers will get to assess if you are qualified for the job.
  • Be honest in rating your self. Don’t put 4 stars if you are not the best at it. Remember, it’s alright to admit that there are things you don’t know rather than showing off. Anyway, your employers will eventually know whether you are lying or not.
  • Take onlinejobs.ph tests and post the results to your profile. Don’t worry these are just basic tests that involves IQ, English and a little bit of psychological exams.
  • Upload a government issued identification card and link your profile to your Facebook account to get high ID trust ratings.
  • Don’t apply to jobs you cannot be committed with. Usually, a job at onlinejobs.ph indicates a required time allotment per week. If you think you can do the job, then go for it. But, if not, just give them to more deserving applicants.

So, that’s it. If you have other suggested sites where we can earn money to prepare for the upcoming holiday season, please put them on the comment box.

Good luck for finding your online job.

September 21 is no Martial Law. It’s another MarjShallLaw Day.

For most Filipinos, September 21 can be a very grue-some day. Why? That’s because this day marks the beginning of Martial Law in 1972 and a little background of Philippine’s history will tell you that a lot of people literally suffered during those times. Many were detained and killed under the Marcos’s regime. It was only after the People Power Revolution in 1986 that the Filipino community found refuge through the Aquino administration. With that being said, you could say that many really dreaded September 21. Nevertheless, I always feel awesome (and I’m sure my parents are too) whenever this day comes since it’s the day I was born.

You see as people gets older, the way they see birthdays becomes different as well. When I was in six, my birthday means bringing to my classroom some feisty Jollibee meals so that my classmates will get to know it’s my birthday. At twelve, another birthday means one more gadget present. When I reached eighteen, my birthday become a day of liberation (in  a good way of course) and just this Saturday, when I turned 20, my birthday meant just another plain celebration. One that is very ordinary but very meaningful at the same time.

As I turned 20, I am celebrating for the blessings and chances I am receiving everyday. I’m not a good person and yet the best people are around me pushing me hard to be best like them. I have let go of so many things in my life but still, more good things come my way. Should I say more?  I’m definitely blessed!

Ah, I think this is a sign of getting older every year. I get so reflective of the past. Nevertheless, you could say that September 21 became a great day for me because it’s no ordinary Martial Law commemoration but a wonderful and memorable MarjShallLaw celebration.

Cheers to New Beginning!

Writing for Essays.ph

If you are a writer-by heart who wants to earn and learn at the same time, join essays.ph (EPH) now and you’ll see, you’d be able to hit two birds with only one stone. Still not convinced? Let me mention the perks that I actually experienced here during my one year stay.

Earn at the Comfort of Your Home.

A set that contains 2500 words normally pays 300 PHP. I know some of you (especially the pros) would say that this is a bit lower compared to what others offer. I think the otherwise. I feel that this is just an incentive. Anyway, we are being paid while doing what we want the way we like it. Also, the 300 PHP rate is subject to increase if you have provided an exemplary performance later on.

I also want to add that writers at Essay.ph receive their compensations through internet banking. Mind you, they pay on time and hassle-free.

Write about Tons of Topics

My first assignment was all about hearing aids. I swear, it took me forever to finish that set. I even had a revision notice afterwards. Despite this, I learned so much about hearing aids. From that moment, I decided to widen my knowledge on all things by claiming sets with topics that I am not really familiar with. Roofing felts, Sliding doors, golf clubs, Pickup Artists are some of the topics that I’m barely familiar with but made me feel like I’m a genius for knowing more about them afterwards.

Push Your Self Harder

Honestly, the reason why I failed on my first assignment is because I clicked on the “Quick Start” Button. Clicking on this thing meant that you are letting the system choose random assignments for you. If you finish them on time, you’ll earn a GC or grace credit. GCs allow you to extend your time limit by additional 24 hours. But, for those who love challenges and taking risks, quick start will give you what you wanted.

Aside from quick start, writers from EPH are able to develop their writing skills through the grades and remarks given by the editors upon submitting a set. I think most of EPH writers would also agree that we always give our sets our best shots just to avoid the deadly revision request. After all, no one wants to feel rejected.

Gain New Friends

In EPH, we don’t just write. We also have fun. What I like about EPH is that it sets events and contests that allow its writers to show their exceptional talents (writing skills aside). The scavenger hunt held last December is one of the most-unforgettable events for me. Actually, I had to go to SM Megamall Cinema 10 and hold a placard which says that “The World Ends in December 31, 2012 11:59 PM” for this. Thank god, my girl pals are very supportive of me. 😀

I am writing all of this based on my personal experience and as a way of thanking the EPH community for the person or rather the writer I’ve become. As of the moment, I am already one year and four months with the company. So far, I am enjoying my whole ride. Want to experience the same perks? Go to  http://www.essays.ph for more details.
